Ralph E. Logsdon, age 79, of Swabb Road, New Washington, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at his home unexpectedly. He was born on February 24, 1926 in Tiffin, Ohio, he was the son of the late Raymond Logsdon and Lavinia (Haferd) Logsdon of Tiffin.
On April 17, 1948 he married Dorothy Thom and she preceeded him in death on Nov. 15, 2000. He later married Rose Mary (Oksanen) Logsdon on Feb. 26, 2002 and she survives.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Pat & Sue Logsdon of New Washington and Mike & Kathy Logsdon of Apple Valley, CA; 2 granddaughters, Angela & David Morrow of Ossining, NY and Christa & Jeff Kozy of Akron; 2 step-granddaughters, Melissa (Ely) Lipka of New Jersey and Christina (Wartinbee) & Andy Bolk of Burnsville, MN;a great grandson, Oliver Morrow and a step-great granddaughter, Meagan Lipka; a brother, Robert Logsdon of Cleveland and 2 sisters, Rosemary Wilhelm of Tiffin and Ruth Williams of Florida; step-daughter, Susan (Oksanen) Wartinbee of Eagan, MN and a step-son, Charles Oksanen of Vadnais Heights, MN.
He is preceeded in death by his wife, Dorothy Logsdon; parents, Raymond and Lavinia Logsdon; step-child, Rebecca Ely Logsdon; 3 brothers, Raymond Logsdon, Jr., Richard Logsdon and Russell Logsdon and 2 infants, Virginia and Russell Logsdon.
He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in New Washington, where he was a member of the mens choir for a number of years and where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 61 years. Ralph was retired from MTD Industries of Willard and he enjoyed traveling and wintering in Weslaco, Texas.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington. The Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington , with Fr. Robert Dendinger officiating. Burial will be at the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Memorials may be made to the St. Bernard Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
