Ray W. Allen, age 87, resident of rural Attica, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 12, 2006. He was born on July 13, 1918 in Whetstone, Ohio to the late Nevin and Ida (Neumann) Allen. Mr. Allen had been employed for 29 years with Leonhart Gas and Oil in Tiro. He is a member of the Crouse Memorial Lutheran Church in Tiro.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. (Ricker) Allen who he married on December 28, 1941; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Rosemary Allen of Lexington; Russell and Marg Allen of Attica; John and Deborah Allen of Mansfield; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Robert Chapman of Mansfield; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Shaw in 1986; two sisters, Iileen Straka and Ann Mary Allen; three brothers, John, James and Carl Allen.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline, Ohio with Lee Neumann officiating. In Lieu of flowers memorial expressions can be made to American Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or to the Crouse Memorial Lutheran Church.
