Ray E. Caudill, resident of Plymouth, Ohio, went to be with his lord, Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at the age of 78. Ray dearly loved his family and enjoyed hunting, Ford tractors and Chevy’s.
He was born in Riceville, KY on July 24, 1926 to Thomas and Amy (Conley) Caudill. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Naomi (Reed) Caudill, whom he married Nov. 21, 1946. Ray enjoyed having coffee and conversation with his family every morning. Also surviving are 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell & Barb Caudill of Willard, Tim Caudill of Willard and Ronnie & Tracy Caudill of Plymouth; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Marietta & Mike Gifford of Greenville, SC, Penelope Sparks of Plymouth, Deanna & Gary Music of Plymouth, Robin & Mike Gowitzka of Shiloh and Candi & Dave Shepherd of Shiloh; 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; his twin sister, Faye Kessler of Plymouth and sister, Lillian Hicks of Mansfield; one brother, Jim Caudill of Plymouth.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Christine, and brothers, Raymond, Lonnie, Lee and Powell Caudill; 2 sisters, Mae Snipes and Julia Lynch and his parents, Thomas & Amy (Reed) Caudill.
He had been a member of the Stoney Ridge United Baptist Church in Carey, Ohio since January 26, 1975. A lifetime member of the Shiloh Ameican Legion Post #503 and a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. Ray retired from General Motors in Mansfield after 30 years of service as a Quality Control Inspector. He was an avid hunter and a member of the NRA.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Elder Pat Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Memorial expressions can be made to American Heart Association.
