Tammy and family–
I was so very sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. I know that this is not an easy time for you. I have likened it to a scar, the scar is visible and hurts until it heals. Once it heals, you are aware that it is there and it reminds you of the past event, but it doesn’t hurt as much anymore.
If there is anything that I can do for your Mom (since I have already been through a loss of a husband) please let me know. I know that I live quite a distance from you but if there is anything that I can do for you or your family — let Becky know and I will try to help. Also if your Mom feels the need to talk to someone, tell her or better yet take her to grief counseling, it does help to talk to others who have been through the loss of a loved one.
God Bless you and your family. He will give you the strength to make it through this trying time.
Love,
Cindy (Becky’s sister)

Smith Bros. Inc. - Sep 22, 2009

Dear Furr Family-
We were all very sorry to hear about Rogers passing. We enjoyed working with him at the lumber mill. We first met him in the early 1980’s when we started hauling mulch and sawdust out of Kaple Lumber. He was the person that loaded all of our trucks. Our drivers have many fond memories of Roger. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to your family.

I first met Roger in the late 1960’s or early 1970’s as he & my dad worked together & I was young enough to go there & play & ride with Roger in his forklift. After my high school days, I worked there also. Roger always had a positive attitude with a fun, joking side whether circumstances were positive or negative.
No matter what – he always had not only a helpful hint or knowledge to share, but 2 helpful hands when a guy needed it. If more people were like Mr. Roger Furr, this world would be a very different place. May his family and loved ones have the “peace that passes understanding”, even as he has found peace at this time.

I have been a part of the Furr family for more than half my life now due to my very best friendship with Melinda. Roger has been the closest thing to a father I have ever known. My words cannot express how sad I am to see him go. But I know he is in a better place. I am truly blessed to be a part of this family and know that the love I feel for you all is returned in a deep unspoken way. Thank you Roger for loving me and excepting me into you heart and home for so many years. You will be missed greatly.
