Sondra D. “Dee Dee” Newsome, age 49, resident of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 peacefully at her home. She was born on July 11, 1968 in Willard, Ohio to George and Joyce (Bentley) Bivens. Sondra had been employed at MTD in Willard and enjoyed music, chatting on the computer and watching her grandchildren grow.
She is survived by her three children, James Jr. (Shawn) Newsome of Willard, Katie (Scotty) Stover of Willard, and Christina (Juan) De La Paz of Plymouth; six grandchildren, Dameon, Reagan, Romeo, Myah, Crissi, and Wade; her mother, Joyce Garcia of Mansfield; four sisters, Shelley Vargas of Plymouth, Sherry Bivens of Mansfield, Sheila Ceja of Plymouth, and Sindy Vargas of Kansas City, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, George Bivens, and a brother, George “Butchy” Bivens Jr.
Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Greg Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
