Vera “Louise” Thomas, age 74, resident of Columbus and former Willard resident passed away February 13, 2004 in Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. She was born on June 1, 1929 in Willard, Ohio to the late Charles Sr. and Lucille (Finn) Hastings. She resided in Willard until 1964 before moving to Columbus. Mrs. Thomas was a retired employee from Bank One in Columbus and she enjoyed traveling and reading.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Keith Hupp of Westerville, OH; John and Allison Hupp; Brian Hupp and Miranda Taylor all of Westerville, OH; three brothers, Donald Hastings of California; Charles Hastings of Cicinnati, OH; Mark Hastings of Willard, OH; one sister, Eva Noble of California; one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Hastings of Dayton; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, John I. Thomas in 1967; an infant son, and an infant sister.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 12, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio with Reverend Ken Gifford of the First United Methodist Church of Willard officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
