Willard O. Baxter, age 91, resident of Willard, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 16, 2006. He was born December 30, 1914 in Willard, Ohio to the late Clarence and Florence (Carnahan) Baxter and has been a life long Willard resident and farmer. He is a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church, had been a New Haven Township Trustee for 30 yeras and a member of the Huron County Planning Committee, he is also a member of the Farm Bureau and a fifty year member of the Old Fellows Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter Barbara and Bob Buss of Glasgow, KY; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and a sister, Iona Briggs of Willard.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn (Clark) Baxter in 2002; two sons, Frederick and David Baxter; two grandchildren, Greg Baxter and Christine Baxter; two great grandchildren, Tyler Bores and Chase Baxter.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Sunday, November 19, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 20, 2006 at 10:30 AM with Reverend Lynda K. Masters officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial expressions may be made to the New Haven Methodist Church or the donor’s choice.
